Rancent is releasing the new version of RC-SDV1D13GTR 3G HD-SDI Video over Fiber Extender designed to increase the range of digital 3G HD-SDI video signals over one core single mode or multimode fiber optic cable.

The Rancent RC-SDV1D13GTR is a high performance, reliable, 1-channel unidirectional HD-SDI video with embedded audio and RS485 data control over the single fiber which performs in real-time, loss-free, and high-quality SDI video and data transmission over an optical multimode or single-mode fiber. SDI is normally carried over coax cable on BNC connectors, however, the maximum cable distance is limited to around 100 meters. Rancent SDI extenders increase this distance to up to 600 meters over mutimode fiber and 20 kilometers over singlemode fiber by using lasers to send the data over fiber cable. Fully compliant with SMPTE424M, SMPTE292M, SMPTE259M and ITU digital video standards, the RC-SDV1D13GTR can operate ranging from 270 Mbps to 2.97Gbps, supporting most professional digital serial communications.

Rancent fiber optic SDI transmitters and receivers use locking type LC fiber connectors and BNC video connectors to ensure that any cable is not accidentally pulled out of the device once the equipment is installed.
